Revived from the dead...again...

Much like Episode 15, this (and Ep. 17) have been finished for uhhh quite a while now. The original plan was for me to finish editing all the remaining episodes so that I could release them weekly afterwards, but that didn't happen, so... 🙃

I'll probably post Ep. 17 next week, I don't have any estimates for when the other episodes will be put out. Hopefully soon enough though. I'm so close to finishing this and I really don't want to push this aside any longer.

Anyways!

In today's episode, Michael and Patty stumble upon a toddler who takes a liking to Patty—in a motherly way of course, much to Michael's dismay. However, what they don't know (yet) is that not only is the child a psychic, but he's also Zcrap's son! Zcrap brings him to Earth with the intention of getting him to use his psychic powers to wreak havoc on the planet, but he irresponsibly loses him after getting drunk one day and scrambles to find him with Camille's "assistance" before his wife finds out and beats the living daylights out of him for it. Average Galatt hilarity ensues afterwards.

Getter Robo Go - Epsiode 24

I wrote this on Twitter already, but the hiatus I planned on taking from this show took longer than I expected—I'm also not satisfied with the fact that I was 6-7 episodes away from the show's next batch and yet I decided to go through with the hiatus anyways. (Technically my fault for juggling so many projects at once, but alas...)

Anyways, I'm making an effort to resume this once more. I don't have any estimates for the remaining episodes but I'm hoping to put these out quick enough for me to get to Episode 30 soon enough, and then the show's 2nd batch after that.

That aside...
In today's episode—a crew member from Big NISAR asks the Getter crew for help in investigating the disappearance of his friend, who was last seen at a museum where other similar incidents have been occurring as well. Things seem fine at first, but not until Gai seemingly disappears himself later...

Anime Sanjuushi (The Three Musketeers Anime) - Episode 16 [16mm HD Scan]

Another Kineko Video collab, this time being a 1080p scan of a 16mm copy of "Anime Sanjuushi"—Episode 16, to be specific. The show already has an HD release but unfortunately it was cropped from 4:3 to 16:9, so this film scan should help demonstrate what an actual 4:3 HD release of the show would look like.

This release uses magnetic audio, taken from the Amazon Prime release and stitched to the episode by "crashoveride953". I don't typically do this, but I've decided to leave in the reel's original optical audio for anybody else who wishes to check it out.

(NOTE: Unfortunately there are two splices around the 9 minute mark of the episode—although they are short, nonetheless the audio skips as a result. The magnetic audio track for this release has also been edited to reflect these splices).

Enjoy!

Devil de Story (1983)

Our first 2024 upload!
A mysterious—and possibly lost—film from 1983...

This popped up for sale back in 2022 with little to no info online—it was listed for an abysmal price but me and some folks from Kineko were able to obtain it securely with our crowdfunding efforts. The TLC'er on this project concluded that this was likely made by a talent agency with the purpose of promoting its actors. Considering this is the only film they showed up in, I don't think it went the way they had hoped...

Anyways—hard to describe what kind of movie this is. Some guy wakes up in the desert with an alien girl and uses some "tickets" he had on him to take various glimpses throughout his life, starting from when he was a child and leading up all the way to his appearance in the desert. He despises being "ordinary" and attempts (unsuccessfully) to be the exact opposite.

I'm not sure what the ending means, so don't ask me about that.

The 16mm film print for this movie was extremely faded—color correction was done on it to try and get it looking as less red as possible. Because there are no images of the movie online, it's really hard to pinpoint how exactly it should look and I'm not too sure if it would have been possible to get the colors to look "original" anyways, given the print's condition and all that.

Enjoy!
