Here's an English fansub of something I've been eyeing for a while now! Mr. Pen Pen, a TV special based off the manga of the same name by Mayumi Muroyama. Pen Pen, the prince of Penguin Land, is sent over to little Mika's household for a temporary study session in order to learn more about the human kingdom—of course, this does not turn out as expected and Mika & Pen Pen get into all sorts of misadventures alongside Pen Pen's companions.

Don't take my word for it, but based off what I searched online, this was never released on any form of home media at all until it was remastered in HD and put up on Amazon Prime JP—the folks at ATTKC ripped it, which is the source used for this fansub.

There is a 2nd part to this TV special which aired months later within the same year—I have also gotten this translated too but I will need some more time to look at it before I throw it up online.

Mori no Tonto-tachi - Episode 19 (16mm HD 1080p Scan)

Another collab with Kineko Video. This time it's an English fansub of a random episode from Mori no Tonto-tachi, a Shaft-animated TV anime about the adventures of Santa Claus and his elf friends who live in a forest somewhere in Finland. In this episode, Santa & friends head out to the nearby forest to help out the animals who were poorly affected by a recent strong blizzard.

Only a handful of episodes from this show were ever released on DVD & VHS—I haven't been able to thoroughly confirm this but I believe the episode here is one of the many episodes from the show that was never released on home media. No clue if they ever will get released, but for now this is as good as it gets!

I don't typically upload two episodes at once, but unfortunately I had to make an exception with these two. The plan was to just upload 19 yesterday but after seeing how much worse 20 was than 19, I didn't want people to waste a week waiting for an episode that they think would pick up in quality again, so I've decided to include these two together to save them the misery of waiting.

Episode 19 has Ryo & Chuck coming in to save Anice after she discovers an underground structure which bears a resemblance to a certain Megalo building.
Episode 20 has Ryo befriending a blind girl whom he saves one day and asking for Memory's assistance in helping her get her eyesight back.

Storyline-wise, both episodes are okay but the animation dips like fucking crazy. 20 suffers the most from this—the characters are so off-model it's not even funny.

Continuation of a joint collab project with InkaSubs. This is episode 2 of D-1 Devastator...and the final one.

I had already written previously in the blog post for Episode 1 that this was meant to be a multi-media franchise but didn't go as planned due to Takara's incompetency. I won't spoil anything, but you can kind of see this based off the way this ended. And the fact they needed to put in a trailer for Episode 1...at the end of Episode 2 of all things...💀

I don't hate this OVA, I'll give it that. But I really wish Takara would have gotten its shit together and treated this right.

Tantei Monogatari - Episode 1

New fansub project! This is the first episode of "Tantei Monogatari", a 1979 TV show starring Yusaku Matsuda as Shunsaku Kudou, a private detective who solves various cases in Japan—much to the dismay of the police force who view him as nothing more than a nuisance. The ways in which he becomes involved with such cases vary throughout the episodes, some even through unusual means...

Based off the trailers I've seen for this show (and after having watched the first episode), the show is mostly comedic than your typical hardboiled show à la Seibu Keisatsu—still, don't let that deter you from enjoying this! That is exactly what gives the show its charm and IMO makes it easily recommendable to other people.

This is...probably the most difficult work I've tackled yet. Due to the show being a Toei production, the audio is optical-based and as a result suffers from the worst-sounding quality imaginable, resulting in lines and words that are almost near unintelligible to make out. No JP subs exist for this show, so... 🥴

The raws are sourced from a BD set of the show that I purchased myself—the quality is...somewhat questionable, but most definitely a step-up than the DVD/webrip raws that currently exist only via private trackers so far.

Because of the length of these episodes, this isn't something I'll likely be releasing on a frequent basis like Borgman or Getter Robo Go, so please be patient. I'll try to work through the next episodes as time allows me to do so.

 

Getter Robo Go - Episode 14

Randou's henchmen send out a new enemy to infiltrate Big NISAR, this time one that's capable of cloning anyone it wishes. It takes on the identity of a newly-stationed mechanic for Getter Robo—Gou and friends are able to take it down, but they are seemingly too late, as the clone has already planted a bomb inside one of the Getter Machines. And just as the Getter crew find out, another Metal Beast immediately appears to attack HQ...oh, the suspense!!

On a slightly-related note:
You may have read elsewhere that I intended to release the show's first batch after the release of Episode 14. TL;DR — expect the batch to go up in January if I'm not able to make the December release for whatever reason.
I've actually already went and fixed all the changes needed for the 1st batch, but I will have to re-watch the episodes again to check for any timing changes I may want to make, amongst other things. Since I'm currently going over the early Galatt episodes again (for that show's 2nd batch), it may take a while before I eventually start with the Getter Robo Go episode re-watches.

Getter Robo Go - Episode 13

The final episode (out of three) that introduces the new mecha variations of Getter Robo—Gai's mecha is finally introduced in this episode.

The enemies send out a new Metal Beast that can dig its way underground, and as such uses its abilities to infiltrate Big NISAR in an attempt to take it down—luckily, Gai's mecha is specifically designed for underground & underwater combat, and is tasked with fighting the Metal Beast. However, due to his past failure from having piloted Getter Robo Go, he's unsure whether he can pull it off or not...

FYI: Starting this episode, I've officially decided to remove all instances of "nyaa" and "woof" from the two tiny NISAR professors in the show whose names elude me right now. I'll go into detail on this later when I eventually release the show's first batch in the near future.

Another demon spotting within the world of Borgman, this time located in a fashionable, highly-populated city...and said demon only targets young women. Oh dear! Anice goes undercover as an unsuspecting woman in order to lure it out...

Also, remember Fritz? That guy in the early episodes who wished for the dismemberment of the Borgman team? Well, despite having died, his wishes for the World Police to handle the demon invasion have come true, under the newly-established "Phantom Swat" team...will they assist Borgman? Only time will tell...

Despite the exciting episode that was 13, 14 is just another typical Borgman episode. (The animation's kinda lacking on this one too...)

Another demon is dispatched to take down Borgman, this time an expert sniper marksman. Ryu struggles to fight back as he gets used to the new cyborg hand implemented into his body after his match with Dust Gead.

Yami no Teiou - Kyuuketsuki Dracula (16mm HD 1080p Scan)

Happy Halloween! Here's a release you guys might like: an HD scan of "Yami no Teiou - Kyuuketsuki Dracula", scanned directly from 16mm!

This was an adaptation of Marvel Comics' "Tomb of Dracula", done by Toei. In this anime, Dracula steals a woman that was intended to be a bride for Lucifer—overcome by love, he is unable to suck her blood and instead decides to marry her & the two even have a kid together. However, Lucifer isn't happy, and a lot of people are out to get Dracula—including a distant relative of his and the children of several victims whom he killed many years ago...

After this aired on Japanese television, well—much like Toei's Frankenstein adaptation (which aired years later and which I also subbed lol), it never re-aired after that and was never officially released on any form of Japanese home media. Can't say the same for Frankenstein, but for Dracula there's actually no way of knowing if this is indeed lost media—and no I'm not just saying that because there's no home media release in Japan. Through a separate source...Toei has admitted that this isn't even in their archives—either they legitimately don't have this anymore or they do and they just haven't bothered digging that deep for it.
This however did get an English dub release in America and several DVD releases in Europe, one of which included the JP audio track as a bonus. 

These reels were acquired from Yahoo Auctions JP in...2019 I think? Fun fact: a separate auction for the reels had shown up on the same site when I was in high school and stayed up for quite some time, but alas I could not buy these as the listing was expensive at the time and OFC I had no means of purchasing them as a jobless student.
I really do wish I had somehow gotten those reels instead, because the ones used for this release aren't pretty unfortunately. LOTS of dirt, scratches, and blue mold everywhere...color correction was done for this release, but beyond that, a full restoration is impossible currently. Though if new reels ever show up again I'd definitely look into getting those and doing a v2 of this!

As usual, scanning & encoding was by Kineko Video. The subs for this release were taken from Over-Time, however their version had mistranslated/missing lines which have since then been fixed up for this release—work courtesy of Yume. The English dub has also been stitched to this scan, stitched by Jefferson Taylor and taken from a newly-recorded VHS copy of his.

Sonic Soldier Borgman - Batch 2 (Episodes 01 ~ 13)

This is the 2nd batch torrent for my ongoing Sonic Soldier Borgman fansub. With the exception of Episode 10, this contains v2's and v3's of previously released episodes.

A list of the changes can be found below:

• Ep. 1 -  Switched Randou's "It hurts..." line to "Ow..."
• Ep. 4 - Fixed episode title (added a comma)
• Default dialogue lines' height level was raised in Episodes 01 ~ 04
• Ep. 6 - "Dolor" changed to "Droll"
• Fixed "Psysonic" / "CySonic" inconsistency in previous EPs. Will be going with CySonic for future episodes
• Ep. 10 episode name was changed/fixed at the end of Ep. 9
• Will be using "Toru" & "Randou" instead of "Tooru" and "Rando". This has now been fixed in previous episodes.

This batch also contains the first ever release of Episode 13: the first actual showdown between Dust Gead and Ryo! Unfortunately, if you've seen Episode 12, you'll already know what happens in this battle—but still worth a watch regardless! What the Ep. 12 next episode preview didn't reveal was the possible origins of Dust Gead, which certainly caught me by surprise...

Getter Robo Go - Episode 10

After the events of the previous episode, the crew at NISAR HQ work to create aerial upgrades for the Getter Robo. However, Randou's henchmen use this opportunity to attack the base by surprise via the use of underwater Metal Beasts instead...unfortunately the Getter Robo is not yet suited for underwater combat. In this episode, Michael and the others participate as supporting actors in an upcoming movie—but is it really worth it when you aren't getting the main roles AND having to deal with pure destruction along the way? I don't think so...
Tamano the Fuel Thief from a couple episodes back makes an appearance here, alongside some other villains that had previously shown up before :)

NOTE: Apparently I had incorrectly written the name of the NEP in Ep. 12—should have been "Space Arc III" but I wrote "Space Arc II". This will be fixed in an upcoming batch in the future.

D-1 Devastator 01

My first joint project ever! Inka-Subs and I have collaborated together to finally begin subbing D-1 Devastator—a two-episode OVA released in 1992 that tells the story of Ryou, who joins the vehicle company Yaes to follow in the footsteps of his missing friend Masato. Upon joining, he discovers the existence of a monster-filled mysterious dimensional space that can only be entered upon reaching 300 km/h—and thus, here begins the attempt of Ryou and his crew to fight back against these invasive creatures. Meanwhile, the president of Yaes seems to have other plans in mind...

This was an original project by Takara that was intended to be a multi-media franchise consisting of OSTs (of which only one was released, ironically...), video games, this OVA, and a manga work. However, once the plan actually came into fruition, it was made clear that some aspects of the OVA couldn't have been understood without having read the manga in advance—as a result, this sold poorly and forced Takara to exit the video industry.

Previously, only the first episode had been subbed...by ARR of all people. Self-explanatory. And so began this project :)

Episode 2 will come out whenever we can get to it.

Cipher - The Animation (1989)

This is a short OVA from 1989 based off the manga of the same name, taking place entirely in New York and recorded exclusively in English. This had already been uploaded onto the net on various occasions before but I wanted to coordinate a project with the sole purpose of recapturing the LD using a Domesday device this time, with the cooperation of Kineko Video (who assisted with encoding) and user "zawa113CJ", who graciously provided their copy of the LD (thank you!). Also translated the behind-the-scenes special since nobody else had seemingly done so yet.

This version of the encode is different than what Kineko Video had previously uploaded onto YT a while back. It has been updated this time—both files are now in 60fps as they should be and the frame ghosting that was present on the YT upload is no longer visible here.

Shinji decides to check out one of the 4 meteorite crystals inside Megalo City when it begins glowing blue one day (which, hilariously enough, nobody else in the city bats an eye at...). However he gets a little too close and gets sucked into it 😱

The Megalo City police prove themselves to be as useless as ever when they refuse to investigate this, so along comes Borgman again to save the day.

This has some nice animation here and there compared to the previous episodes so far. Also, Kaneto Shiozawa returns as the villain again! (At least, I think that's him...)

Getter Robo Go - Episode 9

Although initially hesitant at first, Professor Tachibana agrees to upgrade the Getter Robo Go for humanity's own good and assists in getting a shield installed for NISAR HQ to protect itself from the aerial attacks of Randou's minions. However another Metal Beast arrives and disrupts the shield's installation process, and so Getter Robo must come to the rescue yet again.

NOTE: I changed the lyrics to the OP & ED just slightly in this episode. Future episodes with this OP & ED will utilize said changes—I'll fix the lyrics in the previous episode to reflect these changes once I release the first batch for this show.

Aitsu to Lullaby: Suiyobi no Cinderella (1987)

English fansubbed version of an anime adaptation of a manga by Michiharu Kusunoki, telling the story of motorcycle enthusiast Kenji and his attempts to race against "Wednesday's Cinderella", a Porsche driver whom motorcyclists try to race against every Wednesday and fail doing so. This movie adapts a small portion from the manga (at least, based off what I saw on Wikipedia JP).

I had already acquired this on VHS long ago but hadn't managed to do much with it for a while—thankfully the folks over at Kineko Video acquired this on LD and capped/encoded it using a DdD. Their raw was used for this release :^)

TL;DR — v1 has some mistranslations and other errors I missed. These have been fixed by sotoo.

Also included two bonus features related to the TV special that were bundled in the same DVD box set that "GRADUATION" was in—these include an interview with Momoko Kikuchi about the movie, and a behind-the-scenes special that aired on TV sometime before "GRADUATION" did.
Both specials were timed & translated by Windii, with some folks from InkaSubs providing TLC on the BTS special.

New Maple Town Story - Palm Town Chapter (Movie Version) [35mm 4k Scan]

"Movie version" of New Maple Town Story's first episode that was screened in one of Toei's festival things that they held yearly in the 80s. I put quotations around "movie version" because all this really is is just the first episode of New Maple Town Story left intact (dubbing and all), with the exception of Patty's flashback sequence in the beginning being replaced with footage from the final episode of Maple Town Story.

Regarding the translation: yes, I'm aware this had been previously subbed. However it was riddled with translation errors (unsurprising, considering the subs had been lifted from an ARR release of all things) so this has been re-translated & re-timed from the start.

As a little "bonus", so to speak...there are two audio tracks you can select from in this release. First one is the mono audio from the 35mm print itself, and the 2nd is stereo audio taken from the movie's DVD release.

As usual, this print was acquired, scanned, and encoded by Kineko Video.

Captain Tsubasa - Run Towards Tomorrow! (1985) [35mm 4k Scan]

Back with another Kineko Video collab. This time we got an English fansub for a Captain Tsubasa compilation movie released in 1985—this was passed off by Saizen Fansubs for subbing due to the nature of its movie (it being a compilation and all), and the only existing English subs for this were some sketchy ones from an old YT video. Thus, no "proper" subs really existed for this movie, but that will have changed now with today's release!

As per most of Kineko Video's releases, this is the first time the movie has ever seen an HD release. Since this takes footage from the TV show this is technically also the first time that the TV show has had any sort of footage released online in high quality. Only a few shots of restoration & some color adjustments were done for this movie, but other than that this is mostly untouched.

Today's episode is more of a bittersweet one...while the ending isn't outright tear-worthy material or something, it did have me thinking for a while. I liked this one.

Anyways, Molly meets a new kid, albeit a rather unusual one—he claims to be 50 years old and even carries with him powers of an extraordinary kind! Not a surprise that the demons would want to use him for their own advantages...

Itoshi no Betty - Mamonogatari (1986)

Here's an English fansub of an anime released in 1986, based off the manga by Kazuo Koike & Seisaku Kano. This was originally screened in theaters alongside Amon Saga, and despite it being labeled as "Adult Animation" due to its contents, this doesn't classify as a hentai (though it's pretty close...you'd know after watching).

Like most of the titles I've been fansubbing, I came across the existence of this title after having found out first about its super-rare vinyl-only soundtrack release. Did some even more digging on the internet and all I could find were unseeded raw torrents for this title, plus a shitty release by Kingmenu...decided to nab a copy of the VHS from YAJP and begin working from there.

The VHS has some issues unfortunately—some audio dropouts here and there but they only show up a couple of times, and it's nothing that detracts from the viewing experience. Maybe I'll release a new version if a better copy comes up online, but for now, unlikely. Will be sticking with this one for now.

The completion of Megalo City is near, and to celebrate a water race is being held. Chuck and Ryo join for the purpose of competing against one another, but plans are put aside when a nearby jail goes haywire and its prisoners rebel, under the control of yet another demon...

This episode was really funny. The water race is supposed to be a fun one and yet you can not ONE, not TWO, but MULTIPLE fucking people just crash and explode into various walls during the race!! It's never elaborated upon. Heck they may even have just died and the show goes on like it's nothing lmao

Don Matsugorou no Seikatsu (1983)

Another collaboration with Kineko Video! This time it's an English fansub of a TV anime special by Toei that only aired once on TV. This is the first adaptation (out of many) of Hisashi Inoue's novel of the same name, and the only animated work based off it.

This chronicles the misadventures of "Donmatsu", a dog with the special ability of reading, writing (though not showcased here in the anime), and being able to speak/communicate with humans. From helping stray dogs escape to falling in love with a restaurant owner's dog, a lot sure happens here!

Regarding the scan itself:
The scan has a few issues, of which a Betamax TV recording of the anime was needed in order to fix them. Some scenes that were absent from this 16mm copy had to be patched in from the Betamax version, and likewise the special's first few seconds of audio had to be patched in from the same Betamax copy since it was missing from the film scan. Besides that, it's in generally good shape and good enough to watch from start to end.

This episode is the first one of a 4-part arc that plays out from 11 to 14, where Michael & friends get stranded on an alien planet and must find a way to get back to Earth. Hilarity ensues in each part, unsurprisingly. In this part the gang begin by attempting to look for a part-time job in order to get fuel for their mechas. Previous villains from the previous episodes show up here, BTW!

On an unrelated note—the other episodes in this 4-part arc have been fully subbed, save for one part. I'll probably post the remaining episodes via several-week gaps within each other.

Here's an incredibly funny story as to how this project came to fruition:
I had gotten ahold of this movie's soundtrack on vinyl without actually knowing it was (partially) a movie OST until I had looked deeper in the album's liner notes and saw film staff getting credited in it.
After having done some digging, I eventually came across a subbed release of this movie on a private torrent site. (FYI, said release is the only known English-subbed release online to my knowledge, and it's still only available on private torrent sites as of me writing this out)

Only problem? I had never managed to watch the whole thing because the timing on the subs was AWFUL. I see this a lot with Asian live-action works for some reason but the lines almost always only appear on-screen literally like a second or two after a character starts speaking. It's jarring.

Anyways. I had intended on re-timing the whole thing myself in 2019, but last month I decided to entrust this task to someone else since I no longer had the energy for it. It was then discovered during the process that the subs for the movie—which seemingly appear to have been taken from a Hawaiian TV channel, according to another user I spoke with—were actually...pretty bad. Lots of mistranslations, typos, and as the timer/translator for this project put it:

"The original translation was bordering on ARR tier at times."

Re-timing was all that I had intended for this project, but at this point I decided on just getting the translation for this movie overhauled as well.

So, to put it simply, here's what new:
-Timing has been re-adjusted to how it should be
-95% of the lines have been re-translated using the Japanese CCs as a reference
-Movie's main theme song & insert song are now subbed

That pretty much wraps this up. I really enjoyed this movie, so I may consider doing subs for the other movies eventually :)

Another co-production with Kineko Video! This time it's a new version of the 1986 OVA California Crisis, utilizing a newly-recorded raw of the anime provided by them. Thanks!

Several incorrectly-translated lines/typos found in the previous versions (in both the dialogue & main theme song lyrics) have been fixed up for this release, and lyrics have now been provided for the OVA's insert songs—many thanks to yaoiboy92 for providing their scans of the theme song single w/the lyrics :)
Lyrics were also added in for the opening song, too. Despite being the same song used in the ED it was never subbed in previous versions for whatever reason.
(Off-tangent, but I am not surprised that the insert songs weren't translated previously before—the only record containing lyrics to them was, and still is, overpriced at the time of subbing. Thankfully this single was re-pressed in 2018, making access to said lyrics easier than before)

The upgrade in quality between this version and the previous ones isn't too high, but currently this stands as the highest-quality version of the OVA available on the net. Hopefully this can change one day if film reels for this ever pop up...

Tetsu, Gai's little brother, sneaks into the NISAR headquarters to visit Gai, much to Gai's annoyance. After Gai refuses to bond with this little brother, Yuji steps him to take care of Tetsu instead—which goes well until a Metal Beast comes in and begins making a mess in exactly the same area that Yuji & Tetsu are chilling. Gou steps in to save the day, as usual 🦛

Here's a surprise upload, and a one-off project I felt like doing for fun! Last year I had purchased a 16mm reel of a random Gu Gu Ganmo Episode that was being sold on eBay—finally got it scanned by the folks at Kineko Video recently, and decided to get it subbed while I was at it. Cause why not?

In this episode of Ganmo, Saito goes nervously apeshit over a girl who falls in love with him—only, the girl doesn't have the best of looks...the horror!!

This is an original TV special created entirely by Shotaro Ishinomori, telling the story of three kids who are taken by a flying saucer that sends them back in time to the dinosaur age in order to...learn about empathy? Yeah, just your typical anime plot 🦛

I had discovered this anime for the first time years ago when I was looking through info for the anime's soundtrack release—I couldn't find any JP raws online nor could I find evidence that this was ever released on DVD, so I was under the impression this never got a home media release at all. (EDIT: actually, as of me writing this out, I've just discovered that there was a Betamax release of all things...)

Fast forward to several months ago. I discover a high-quality clip of the anime uploaded onto YT by a Korean user, with the keywords "DVDrip" in the title!! I searched once more for evidence of a DVD release but once again I could not find anything. The Korean user in question was also being a gatekeeping dick and didn't want to tell anyone where the DVD was sourced from.
To make a long story short, I found out from various people that the special was included in a Shotaro Ishinomori anniversary compilation DVD—not once, but twice! And so I purchased the DVD to get it ripped & subbed eventually...and here we are.

I'll be blunt, I didn't like this anime lol. BUT, I do think it's worth at least one watch. Not something you should avoid or anything.

A new demon attempts to take over the town of New Asakusa, and convinces a kid to play with him using toys of his from a store he supposedly owns...suspicions (unsurprisingly) rise after several people notice said student hasn't returned home yet.
Rest is self-explanatory :^) Borgmen to the rescue as usual!

Side note: the NEP from Ep. 6 addressed Droll's name with a different spelling—this will be fixed in the show's next batch.

Patalliro - Stardust Project (35mm 4k Scan)

Back with another subbed film scan upload! This was scanned by the kind folks at Kineko Video, at 4k. Some restoration was applied in a few scenes throughout the movie, but not the entire thing. CC was not done on this since the colors look fine enough already.

This is an English fansub of "Patalliro: Stardust Project", a short 48 min-ish film released in theaters. I haven't seen the show yet, so I'm assuming this takes place (story-wise) after it—but this tells the story of Tarantella, an evil organization wishing to take over the world by creating a super weapon made using diamonds they stole around the globe.

Only Patalliro & Bancoran can put a stop to it, but Bancoran has to come face-to-face with a past lover of his, now working for the evil Tarantella...

This was purchased by me from Yahoo Auctions some time ago, for...quite a hefty price 🥴. I don't think this was originally included with the movie but there happened to be an ad for Hikari no Densetsu & Shounen Jump included at the beginning of the reel, funny enough! (Both of these are also on Nyaa, BTW)

Anyways, the movie already has various home media releases but all of them have been cropped down to 16:9 widescreen, despite the movie having been animated entirely in 4:3. I did comparisons of the two and IMHO I feel this movie is best meant to be seen in 4:3.

The subs are taken from a user in the aarinfantasy forums—translation-wise, nothing is changed but I did have to make lots of changes to the subs themselves.

-A LOT of lines were missing periods/exclamation marks/etc...this is something I typically see in subs for Asian live-action movies a lot. It bugs the hell out of me, so I've went and fixed that

-The subs originally included Romaji lyrics for the OP, but none for the insert song that plays near the end of the movie. In order to keep things consistent, I've removed the OP's Romaji lyrics

-Added in a few TL Note disclaimers in some scenes for context on some JP puns in the movie

Momoko Kikuchi in: Sotsugyou -GRADUATION- (1985)

English fansubbed version of a 1985 TV drama starring Momoko Kikuchi. The drama tells the story of Momoko Watanabe—a student who, upon visiting a shrine in order to wish good luck on a friend of hers, witnesses a murder in the forest...and she knows the culprit! Unfortunately, she doesn't have it in her to tell anybody about it, and to make matters worse, said aforementioned friend gets accused of the murder...what comes next? Watch and find out!

So, a couple of notes regarding this release, and the movie in general.

-This encode is taken from a Momoko Kikuchi CD + DVD boxset I bought myself—this is the first time the movie had ever been released on home media. The movie was originally broadcasted in stereo but the DVD version utilizes some crusty mono audio.
Good news? I have the stereo mix, provided by a kind JP YT user. The bad news? I had intended on stitching it myself but unfortunately it proved to be a difficult task, so I dropped it. I still have the audio if anyone else wants to give it a shot but I don't plan on doing it myself anytime soon.

-The movie stutters for a split second halfway through, when a certain scene ends and cuts immediately to the next scene. This presumably has something to do with my DVD copy, which I thought was in good condition...I think it's tolerable enough, but no, I don't plan on buying a new copy of this to fix it. The box set cost me around $100 and frankly I don't plan on spending that much for this set again.

-There is a line very early in the movie (which I wrote about on Twitter) that sorta still needs TLC—the translator and even a native JP speaker could not figure it out themselves. The line honestly seems fine to me as it currently stands, and it has no major effect on the movie anyways. Still, if you happen to know it, don't hesitate to contact me!

-Lastly: there are two accompanying extras that were bundled alongside the movie—an interview with Kikuchi about GRADUATION, and a short behind-the-scenes special. Both are untranslated ATM but I do plan on getting them subbed at some point. I will be posting them separately once they're ready.

He does get kidnapped, but do you really think they'd kill him off so quickly? Especially right after Shinichi's death? Hell no!!

This is an English-fansubbed version of TWD Express, an anime adaptation of a manga by Yuki Hijiri that was screened in theaters alongside "MAPS". "TWD Express" is a transportation company (managed by Ken, Duke, and Ivan) that specializes in delivering goods from one planet to another, but unfortunately the trio are usually poor due to their inability to complete the dangerous jobs they receive. However, things change when they rescue a girl on the run from a mysterious entity...

Orphan Fansubs' LD raw was used for this release—apparently Shochiku did an awful job at mastering this for Laserdisc, so as a result the quality here is kind of wonky. Sorry!
Despite that, I think it's still tolerable enough and shouldn't deter your enjoyment of this anime. Enjoy!

Some translation notes:
Just like the change I made with Gou's name some time ago, Rando will now be referred to as "Randou" from now on. Once again, this will be fixed in the previous episodes when the first batch for the show is up.

Also: apparently there was a mistranslation in one of the OP lines (Me no naka de machi wa owaranai / But the road won't end in my eyes)—"road" should actually be "city" in this instance, so this has now been fixed and will be reflected in future episodes.
